Update on Syria consecration to Mary

This is the latest from Antonia Moffat regarding Syria, a country whose Christian people are suffering greatly …

mgr-samir-nassarThank you all so much for the great union of prayer invoking the Immaculate Heart of Mary for Syria last Trinity Sunday.

You will see below a few words of grateful thanks which brought tears to my eyes from Archbishop Samir Nassar of Damascus.
It is moving to see that our poor prayers mean so much to the beleaguered Christian flock in Damascus and beyond.
We are truly the extended Parishioners of the Archbishop. So few can now get to Mass in Syria because of the war. Please keep praying and
any further news from the Archbishop I will send on.
You might like to read out or print in your Parish Newsletters these moving words of gratitude. I am sure it will encourage people to keep praying.
How humbling for us.
With gratitude and in union of prayer
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us
AntoniaDear Antonia

Re-consecrating Syria to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

church interiorHere is another message from Antonia Moffat regarding the Archbishop of Damascus re-consecrates Syria to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on this  coming Trinity Sunday.  The Prayer he will use is attached.

Dear Friends,

I am so sorry not to be able to address you each individually once again. I ask you to forward this message on with the  text of the Act of Consecration of Syria which is below – in order to ask as many individuals, priests, parishes and groups as possible to pray this Solemn Prayer invoking the powerful Intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the protection and liberation of Syria and all its peoples from this terrible War which is now raging into its third year and continues to get worse.
All human means have failed and we in union with this courageous Archbishop need to implore God’s Mercy through the powerful Intercession of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Many of you already know that I am in frequent contact with the Archbishop since last June – it is a grace for me and all of you that we receive his letters of Christian witness and courage so frequently to encourage us in our prayer and Christian journey.

This email is to ask you to join with Archbishop Samir Nassar, the Archbishop of Damascus who is to Re-Consecrate Syria to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at his 6pm Mass in his Cathedral in Damascus on May 26th 2013 – Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. It will be 4pm UK time.

Renewal of Act of Consecration of Syria to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

May 26th 2013 – Feast of the Most Holy Trinity

To be led by Archbishop Samir Nassar of Damascus, Syria in his Cathedral in Damascus at 6pm local time

“The Shepherds chosen by Your Son to watch over and feed in His name the sheep He has acquired at the price of His blood – in this “Land of Holy Mary”, whose name cannot be pronounced without pronouncing Your own – come today – as the official and consecrated representatives of their flocks, and in an act of filial “homage” (vassalagem) of faith, love and trust – to solemnly consecrate the Syrian nation to your Immaculate Heart. Take it from our fragile hands into Your own; defend it and guard it as Your own property; make Jesus reign, conquer and rule in it. Outside of Him there is no salvation…

We, the bishops of your people, feel a terrible storm raging round us, threatening to disperse and destroy the faithful flock of those who bless You because You are the Mother of Jesus. Afflicted, we stretch out our suppliant hands towards Your Son, as we cry out “save us, O Lord, for we perish!”… Intercede for Syria, O Our Lady, in this grave hour when from all around blow furious winds, bringing cries of death against Your Son and against civilization founded on His teachings, deceiving minds, perverting hearts and lighting the fires of hatred and revolution in the world. Help of Christians, pray for us!

Intercede for Syria, Our Lady, in this troubled hour when the unclean waves of an open immorality, which has even lost the notion of sin, exalt the rehabilitation of the flesh in the face of the very Cross of Your Son, threatening to choke in this world the lily of virtue nourished by the Eucharistic blood of Jesus. Virgin most powerful, pray for us!…

Intercede for Syria, Our Lady, in this hour of passions and doubts when even the good run the risk of being lost…Unite all the Syrian peoples around Your Son in the love of the Church and the cultivation of virtue, in respect for order and fraternal charity. Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Remember finally, Patroness of our country and Mother of Jesus that we now only have recourse to Your Immaculate Heart and Divine Mercy. O Blessed Virgin Mary through the powerful intercession of your Immaculate Heart, save Syria, by giving it Jesus, in Whom it will find Truth, Life and Peace.” Amen.

Act of Consecration of Syria to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart…

This is a message sent by Antonia Moffat, who has been in touch with the Archbishop of Damascus, in Syria, where Christians are suffering so much:

Mgr-samir-nassarDear Friends of Our Blessed Mother and Merciful Jesus,

This is a very serious email I am sending you but also one which
carries great HOPE!

The situation in Syria, the Middle East and in many parts of the World
is deteriorating. Humanly speaking we in many of the trouble spots of
the world we are in a ‘hopeless situation’. The situation of unbelief
in Western Europe has had catastrophic Consequences and continues to
do so. Marriage and Family the very foundation of the Family is under
persistent and severe attack. Millions of unborn babies continue to be
slaughter upon the altars of godlessness, selfishness and ignorance.
Our beloved Church is under attacked, our clergy and Bishops and lay
faithful too who try to remain faithful to Christ and the truths he
proclaimed.

Our Lady’s tears around the world are profuse and the suffering of her
sorrowful and immaculate Heart amidst her suffering sons and daughters
is beyond what any of us can fathom. The peoples in Syria are bleeding
daily in anguish of spirit, heart, mind, and body.

Archbishop Samir Nassar, the Archbishop of Damascus has just sent me
the following confirmation re Renewal of his Act of Consecration of
Syria to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart…

+Samir NASSAR

Thank you dear Antonia for your fidelity and support of our small
communities in difficulty. The Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of
Mary will be renewed on May 26th 2013 in Damascus at 6pm. Pictures and
2000 of the prayer have been printed. +Archbishop Samir Nassar

I am asking you as last time to mobilize an enormous Mountain of
Prayer around the World in support of Archbishop Samir as he prepares
to renew the Act of Consecration Syria to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
which he first carried out in his Cathedral on August 15th 2012 -Feast
of the Assumption.

World Apostolate of Fatima in England and Wales Novena and Presentations

Fatima pilgrims 13 July 2012Dear Friends,

This posting is focusing on Fatima, and particularly on the World Apostolate of Fatima in England and Wales.

The 96th anniversary of the First apparition is on 13 May, so we are asking everyone to join in a Novena to Our Lady of Fatima, for the promotion of the message, particularly in Britain, but also around the world.

The other thing WAF England and Wales are currently promoting are Fatima Presentations, which involve showing a DVD and a PowerPoint Presentation, as a way of encouraging devotion to Our Lady in parishes.

As we are all aware—and for all sorts of reasons—genuine Marian devotion is lacking at the moment in the Church, but particularly in Britain. The atmosphere of secularism which is all around us in the western world is very stifling, and the Church is on the defensive.

But there is a remedy from heaven for all this, and that is living out the Fatima Message, as given by Our Lady to the three little shepherds, Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia, in 1917. She prophesied how the “errors of Russia” would spread throughout the world, and we have seen this both with communism in the past, and now with the materialism and atheism which are so widespread in the West.

Pope John Paul II performed the collegial consecration in 1984, in union with a “moral totality” of the world episcopate, and according to Sr Lucia this was accepted by heaven. The result was the peaceful collapse of communism. But Russia has not yet been converted, and it seems that this isn’t going to happen until the Fatima message is implemented much more widely, and particularly as regards praying the Rosary and the Five First Saturdays devotion. The Pope and the bishops have done their part with the collegial consecration, and now it is up to the priests and laity to do their part.

So, wherever you are in the world, please join in the Novena to Our Lady of Fatima, as found via the link below, starting today, 4 May, and finishing on 12 May, with the particular intention that the work of the World Apostolate of Fatima in England and Wales may flourish, as well as for the more general intention that the Fatima message will spread throughout the world, particularly now that it is reported that Pope Francis has asked the Portuguese Bishops to consecrate his pontificate to Our Lady of Fatima, on 13 May, in Fatima itself. (Obviously, you can also include your own particular intentions)

The other thing you can do, if you live in England or Wales, is to try and arrange for a Fatima Presentation in your parish this summer, during the Year of Faith. PDFs with details of the Presentation, and with Commendations of previous Presentations, are available via the links below. Please consider asking your parish priest if he will host a Presentation, and please also feel free to pass on this message, and its attachments, to as many of your contacts as possible.

At Fatima, on 13 July 1917, Our Lady said: “In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph … and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” That is a wonderful promise and she backed up her credentials as Queen of Prophets by performing the Miracle of the Sun— predicted 3 months in advance—on 13 October 1917, the greatest public miracle in 2,000 years of Church history.

But that period of peace won’t come until genuine Marian devotion grows and envelops the whole world, so we must do everything we can to promote the Fatima message.

God bless,
Donal

First Saturday of January 2013

fatimaThis coming Saturday, 5th January,  is the First Saturday of 2013

Why not begin the new year in the best possible way by beginning or continuing the Fatima Five First Saturdays devotion of reparation?

Along with praying the Rosary daily, doing the Five First Saturdays is the best way to fulfil Our Lady’s requests at Fatima, and so bring about the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart and the period of peace for the world.
