Novena Act of Consecration of Syria for Peace

Our Lady of IljgeNovena Act of Consecration of Syria to the Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary to support in Prayer the Geneva II UN Mediated Peace Talks

January 22nd to January 30th and beyond….

O Sorrowful Holy Mother of Syria, Our Lady of Saidnaya, whose tears continually pour over the suffering children and land of Syria…

Your people and those who love Syria from afar – come today – in an act of “homage” of faith, love and trust – to solemnly consecrate the Syrian nation to Jesus through your Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart. O blessed Mother take Syria from our fragile hands into Your own; defend it and guard it as Your own property; make Jesus reign, conquer and rule in it. We are helpless and in our helplessness we turn to you.  We place Syria and the Geneva II talks into your hands….

The bishops of your people and all the peoples of Syria, experience a terrible storm of war raging around them, threatening to disperse and destroy the faithful flock and all people of good will in Syria.

Afflicted, we stretch out our suppliant hands towards Your Son Jesus, as we cry out “save us, O Lord, for we perish!”… Intercede for Syria, O Our Lady, in this grave hour when from all around blow furious winds, bringing cries of death against Your Son and against a civilization founded on His teachings, deceiving minds, perverting hearts and lighting the fires of hatred and revolution in the world. Help of Christians, Help of Syria, pray for us!

Intercede for Syria, Our Lady, in this troubled hour when the unclean waves of an open immorality, which has even lost the notion of sin, exalt the flesh in the face of the very Cross of Your Son, threatening to choke in this world the lily of virtue and the gift of peace, nourished by the Eucharistic blood of Jesus. Virgin most powerful and Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Intercede for Syria, Our Lady, in this hour of passions and doubts, when even the good run the risk of being lost…Unite all the Syrian peoples around Your Son in the love of the Church and the cultivation of virtue, in respect for order and fraternal charity. Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Remember finally, Patroness of Syria and Mother of Jesus that we now only have recourse to Jesus, Divine Mercy and to Your Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart. O Blessed Virgin Mary through the powerful intercession of your Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart, save Syria, by giving it Jesus, in Whom it will find Truth, Life and Peace. Amen.

Notre Dame D’Ilige, pray for us

Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Saidnaya Pray for us

Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary,  Our Lady of Soufanieh Pray for us

Sorrowful & Immaculate Heat of Mary,  Our Lady of Damascus Pray for us

St. Joseph, patron and protector of the Universal Church, Pray for us

Martyrs of Syria and the Middle East, Pray for us

Martyrdom of Fr. Francois Murad …

Here is another message from Antonia about the tragic situation in Syria and our lack of response …

Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus

indexIt is with great prayer and thought that I have decided to send out this email with a link of the graphic martyrdom of Fr. Francois Murad a 49 year old priest beheaded in Syria in the past weeks.

Two other Catholic Priests have also been murdered along with countless thousands of others…and the killing just continues. May they rest in peace and rise in glory…

We in the Church here in the Uk need a massive WAKE UP CALL as to what is really happening with the persecuted Church in so many countries around the world ….we are too complacent..

Syria and Nigeria are perhaps living the greatest Calvary as I speak.

It is entirely up to you whether you view this content sent to me by a priest late last night.

I made the decision to do so… and I am forever changed by it.

We need to increase our prayers for Syria and we need to plead and deeply pray.

This is the time for Serious Intercessory Prayer and Penance for the salvation of souls.

What is at stake for many is Eternal Life … the battle of Our Lady, the Woman clothed with the Sun and the red dragon is raging in the heavens and on earth – Rev 12..

The powerful intercession of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary with Merciful Jesus is assured … Heaven is with us…

The time of persecution all over the world is nigh..and the Middle Eastern Christians are showing us and witnessing to us ..the high privilege of being disciples of Christ.

The sheer helpless ness and powerlessness of the priests and all the others in the face of their fate is visible for all to see…

The helplessness in the email below from Archbishop of Damascus is also evident..

The only recourse now is to the Powerful Intercession of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary … Governments… UN ..all  powerless in the face of this evil.

How we need to pray…and plead for the conversion of the hearts and minds of the men and women of violence all over the world.

I invite you to pray and to plead the Precious Blood of Jesus over all.

Yours in the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary

Antonia

The priest Archbishop Nassar spoke of was 49 years old..Fr. Francoise  Murad..he was beheaded by the jihadist al Nursa Rebels….on June 23 rd 2013
It was horrific…they videoed it …and I decided to watch part of it…it was too much to watch all. He is truly a martyr..he was bound, helpless with no advocat..a line of other men to be beheaded were beside him. He was the first one as he was a Catholic Priest. He was a true lamb just slaughtered with the jihadist mob screaming hell all around him.
In the week running up to his death he knew this might happen….he gave his life and martyrdom for the peace of Syria…
O Lord have Mercy
And I am now a witness to this martyrdom and cannot remain silent…
Antonia

Dear Antonia
Sorry for your problems..take care..we need you..
Every day people dies ..non stop war for the third year..
It is too difficult..The third priest killed was Father François MRAD
3 days ago, north of Syria..killed in his convent..
A bomb killed 5 young people next door yesterday..
Nothing to do..
Lord have mercy..
Sacred Heart of Mary give us peace..

Pilgrimage of Reparation and Consecration to Walsingham on Saturday July 13th 2013

Here is a message from Antonia Moffat about the Pilgrimage of Reparation and Consecration to Walsingham on Saturday July 13th 2013:

walsinghamDear Friends,

I have thought to email you in advance of the Pilgrimages on Saturday July 13th 2013.  This Pilgrimage is to be the last one I will organise as a resident of Walsingham itself as I am to move towards the end of August 2013 ……am in the process of selling my house….among other things!!!

When ‘England goes back to Walsingham, Our Lady will come back to England’ has always been at the forefront of my mission and apostolic work here. I am also keenly aware of the ancient connection of Walsingham with the Holy Land and the Middle East. During the crusades when pilgrims could not travel to the Holy Land they came for all over Europe and this country to Walsingham. I like to think that the intercession of the pilgrims of old have helped open up the grace of the friendship and communication with various people in the Middle East especially with the Archbishop of Damascus, Syria.  This is why …Walsingham is known as ‘England’s Nazareth’.

I have organised Pilgrimages of Reparation and Consecration at the various Shrines of Our Blessed Lady and St. Padre Pio with the help of faithful local organizers across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland for the past 20 years…

Who would believe it that 20 years has passed by … and the need for prayer for our Isles is greater than ever!! However we believe in faith that our Pilgrimages have sown many seeds and laid firm foundations

for the renewal of our beloved Catholic Faith in our lands in the future. This must be a realisation of great hope for us.

Every year since their inception these Pilgrimages have been graced with a Papal Blessing – we must never underestimate the power of these Papal Blessings and our continuous intense and deep union of prayer with our beloved Holy Father.

I have already the Papal Blessing we have received for this year’s pilgrimages from Pope Francis….it is beautiful and moving..

The Poster for this year’s Pilgrimage can be downloaded here:

http://www.theotokos.org.uk/pages/misc/r&cposter2013.pdf

These Pilgrimages also provided the platform for the Pilgrim Tour of Our Lady of Reconciliation to tour the Dioceses of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland for over 14 years in a mission of ‘Reconciliation through Reparation’.

This statue was blessed by our beloved Blessed Pope John Paul II on September 24th 1997 Feast of Our Lady of Ransom/Walsingham, for this purpose and intention and extended the prayer of the Pilgrimages of Reparation and Consecration far further than our annual Pilgrimages at the various Shrines. For the past two years the Pilgrim Statue has been here in Walsingham at various venues and I now need to find a more permanent home for her.

Sadly and it is a great sadness to me ..she is not wanted in her own Chapel here in Walsingham – the Chapel of Our Lady of Reconciliation. I am broken hearted over this ..yet in faith I Trust that the Lord has some place even better for his blessed Mother Our Lady of Reconciliation where she will be honoured and who embodies the reconciling mission of Our Lady of Walsingham for the conversion of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and beyond to faith in Jesus Christ.

Our theme for the pilgrimages this year .. For the stability and protection of Marriage and the Family as the foundation of human life and society and in Intercession for the intentions of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary for Pope Francis and the renewal of the Church and for the peace of the World is very timely…it is my joy to be able to unite with you all in prayer for this great intention.

I think I have mentioned already that I am to move from Walsingham very soon …. this does not mean that my mission with Our Lady of Walsingham finishes…it just means that it will be taking a different lead and way…

In the light of this I have decided that this year’s 20th Pilgrimage of Reparation and Consecration here in Walsingham will be the last one… There is a sense of completion about the mission God intended for them.

These pilgrimages were begun in commemoration of the 1948 Pilgrimages of the Crosses  to Walsingham which culminated in the Act of Consecration of England and Wales to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  by Cardinal Griffin and all the Bishops of England and Wales in the Abbey Grounds Walsingham on the very spot of the Original Shrine. The date of the Pilgrimage was July 16th …Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel 1948.  And what a grace we are to receive in this Diocese on July 16th 2013 when our 4th Bishop of East Anglia is installed … Bishop Alan Hopes…Our Lady of Walsingham has surely won for us a “Shepherd after Christ’s own heart” which was written in the prayer we all prayed to obtain from God a worthy Shepherd….Bishop Michael himself wrote this prayer I was told…a beautiful prayer to pray for a new Bishop.

… What needs to happen now is that the Bishops renew the Act of Consecration of England and Wales to the Immaculate Heart of Mary …we the clergy and laity can do no more.  The graces which God wishes to grant the Church in these times will come when the Bishops of each Country consecrate their Nation and church to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. These Acts of Consecration are integral to the Peace Plan of Our Lady Queen of Peace for these times…

Heaven is awaiting their response, and act of faith and trust in the powerful Intercession of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. We continue to pray…

It is with very great gratitude to God and his Holy Mother that I give thanks for all the Pilgrims, Organisers, Priests and Shrines and others involved over the 20 years who have faithfully organised/attended this great union of prayer through uniting in Pilgrimages at the various shrines. In the early years we had Knock involved and other Shrines who joined us as a one off. Only in Heaven will you all know the joy and solace you gave the Hearts of Jesus and Mary through these Pilgrimages and what graces were granted to the Church and especially our beloved Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and Religious and to our Countries and Peoples.

I deeply sense that we are moving into new times which may be very difficult for us all. We will need great TRUST in Merciful Jesus and the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary … I believe that the persecuted Church of the Middle East is showing us the way and has done for many centuries as to how to remain faithful during times of persecution. Sadly in the West few people have understood the need for voluntary Reparation and Consecration – we have done our best  – and  there comes a time when many more people will learn about Reparation through suffering….and the circumstances they find themselves in….

I think you will understand what I am saying here.

Our blessed Mother down the centuries has pleaded with us for Prayer, Repentance, Penance, Reparation, Adoration and Consecration – sadly her pleas have for the most part gone unheard and this is why her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart is heavy with sorrow, grief and great compassion as she beholds her children straying from the ways of the true God and with a longing so great for the salvation of each individual soul that her heart almost breaks…

In the end her Immaculate Heart will triumph and it will herald in the Eucharistic Reign of Jesus.

All in God’s time ..for we do not know the day or the hour…the only question each one needs to ask of oneself individually …is… am I ready to meet the Lord….???

With great gratitude to God for these 20 years of Pilgrimages of Reparation and Consecration

with much love and prayer

With a Broken Heart …Archbishop Samir of Damascus …

WITH A BROKEN HEART – the Latest letter from Archbishop Samir of Damascus about the terrible situation in his country for our fellow Christians …
syria-ruins

1) A GUILTY SILENCE:
The more we talk of Geneva II for peace in Syria, the further the war becomes more violent and more suffering …

It is a typical game that makes each party seeking to improve her position on the ground before reaching the final solution …

This scenario does not take into consideration the poor people caught in the crossfire .. The third year of this global conflict, plunges into greater misery against the inability of the UN …

This heavy Calvary crushes the FAMILY, as cell who resisted the violence… Because it is weakened by war and insecurity, the family can no longer save nor protect.

The Syrian family watches with sadness the dubious silence and the indifference of the international society toward her cruel and unending tragedy.

2) LIKE A BEETLE:
A father who has lost everything came to the church to complain aloud: “I have no home I lost all my family … They are dispersed among cousins .. I do not have work… I’m hungry … I’m sick without medications… What is the Church for me? You cannot protect me or find me a shelter, or get me a visa to leave the country … ”
“I am like a beetle at the bottom of a cup who cannot get out and keep turning in circles until dying at the bottom of its hole .. This is what I am,” said the gentleman leaving angrily the archdiocese …

Many Syrians are like this man … They turn around at the bottom of their holes… All the doors are closed … They face their fate in an accusing silent…

3) A MOTHER’S BROKEN HEART:
A mother who fled the bombing of her village with her four children was forced after five hours of walking in the mountains and valley to abandon her two small kids on the way. She arrived breathless with the two elders at the place of refuge in Lebanon, crying her two little abandoned because she couldn’t carry them with her … She had to choose between the death of all of them and the survival of a part … A terrible choice and a cruel situation.

What an awful war…How could we imagine the suffering of this mother forced to abandon two of her children to save the two others? Who would better comfort her broken heart more than Our Lady of Sorrows? This heartbreaking scene rejoins Mary at the foot of the Cross…

4)  ECUMENICAL SUFFERING:
In a meeting for the bishops of the Middle East, the Apostolic Nuncio listened to the woes of these different countries, and evoked an ecumenical suffering that is uniting in the same Calvary all the Christians of the East…Difficult, painful and providential path of unity.
The long list of refugees in the Middle East is growing, added by more than six million Syrian refugees … Ecumenism of the exiled without labels, Christians and Muslims …

Could this suffering lead to a reconciliation between the religions and the people of the Middle East?

COULD WE SEE LIFE AND PEACE STREAMING OUT OF THE CROSS?

Solemn Consecration of Lebanon and the Middle East to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary

This is another message from Antonia Moffat:

Our Lady of IljgeDearly beloved friends,

I share some very great news with you all. Tomorrow on Sunday June 16th in Lebanon …. the entire Episcopate of Lebanon, along with their Papal Nuncio and with all the Catholic Patriarchs of the Middle East will gather in Harissa, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon to solemnly Consecrate Lebanon and the Middle East to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I attach* the Text of the Act of Consecration which will be prayed by all present led by all the catholic Episcopate of Lebanon and all the catholic Patriarchs of the Middle East following solemn Holy Mass.

I received this from Fr. Augustine Aoun a Maronite Priest in Lebanon this morning. He also then telephoned me to tell me that all the Patriarchs of the Middle East would be present too.

All of the Church in Lebanon has been preparing for this great spiritual moment … an Image of Our Lady in the past 40 days has travelled to every Parish in Lebanon. Every Parish in Lebanon will be united with the Mass and Act of Consecration tomorrow in a great union of prayer.

I am inviting you all to join too with this Act of Consecration tomorrow….if you are a priest I ask you to lead your people in the prayer in your parishes tomorrow before the final blessing of the Mass. I hope you do not mind me asking you…we all know that the situation in the Middle East is very, very dangerous … what we can do is to spiritually unite with perhaps the greatest act of faith in the powerful Intercession of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Her beloved Son, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which has ever been carried out in the Middle East. I humbly ask you to….pray much tomorrow for the Middle East. I am absolutely certain that Merciful Jesus will act at the Intercession of his Holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. He can refuse her nothing!

I invite you all to forward this email to all your praying friends around the World to mobilise a great union and mountain of prayer with the courageous Cardinal, Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious and lay faithful of Lebanon and the  Middle East who are such witnesses of the love and mercy of the crucified and risen Lord.

I exhort you  and pray with you.

Please print off this email and the text of the Act of Consecration to give to your priests.

* The consecration text is below:

Act of Consecration of Lebanon and the Middle East
to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, You have been chosen by God Our Father, through the action of the Holy Spirit, to become the Mother of His Incarnate Son; You lived perfectly the obedience of faith, united, by your motherhood, to Your Son Jesus, by an indissoluble bond, thus listening to His words, treasuring up all these things and pondering them in Your heart; You accompanied Him throughout His early life in Nazareth, where He was growing in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man; You interceded with Him in Cana of Galilee, You suffered with Him in Your motherly heart on the foot of the Cross and participated in the redemption that He accomplished, He, the only Redeemer of the world, for the sake of the entire humanity in every time and place.

Your spiritual motherhood thus embraced the whole of humanity and all mankind, in all their affiliations and cultures. Today, after You were raised to the glory of Your Son risen from the dead, you continue to enfold us with Your maternal care, through Your intercession, for us to welcome the graces of the Lord that would lead us to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Our Lady of Lebanon, we ask You to bestow your tenderness upon our beloved country Lebanon and all the Middle East, this region which soil witnessed the fulfillment of the events of His plan of redemption and from where the Church, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, took off to bring the Good News to the entire populations, bearing witness to the Lord Jesus until martyrdom and acting as the guarantor of the treasure of faith, in order to transmit it from generation to generation, until it reached us.

O Mother of the Church, Help us through Your intercession, for we are the sons and daughters of the Church to which You belong and whose model, mother and teacher You are, so that we live the Communion of Love among ourselves and bear witness for the human and Christian values in our family, social and national lives, working to promote those values in Lebanon and the East and turning them into a civilization that elevates the human person to listen with the utmost obedience to God who speaks constantly to his heart.

O Mother of men and peoples, You who knows our sufferings and joys, our fears and hopes, Protect this region through Your intercession from all that threatens it, from violence, extremism, turmoil and turbulences and from the demeaning of human persons dignity and the infringement of their rights, freedom and integrity; we pray You to guide all the children of this East, in their diversity, that their minds be enlightened with the light of the only Creator who wants us to live as one human family tied by the bonds of brotherhood, so that every person seeks to build a bright future, on the grounds of convergence, participation, love and justice.

We implore You, O Mother, to accept from us the consecration of Lebanon and the East to Your Immaculate Heart and to Your Holy patronage. We thus consecrate ourselves to God, through the action of the Holy Spirit, following the example of the Only Son who consecrated Himself to His Divine Father and was faithful to Him in all His acts and teachings, for the salvation of humanity. Pray for us, that we may live the full requirements of this consecration, thus repenting of our sins, listening to the Word of God which is our source of life and renewing our love to God by complying to His will and through our love for our neighbors expressed in the act of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence in a spirit of brotherhood.

We implore Your intercession, O Holy Mary:
For the human persons to be open to God and to abide by His will, thus working for the good of the entire humanity and contributing to building peace, We pray You;

So that we show faithfulness to Jesus Christ in our life and we bear witness to Him in our words and deeds, through love and reconciliation, service and sacrifice, We pray You;

So that we carry the Cross of pain in our souls and bodies, on the example of Jesus Christ, and face the challenges and adversities with patience and hope, We pray You;

For our bishops, priests, religious and laymen, so that God assists them in carrying out their mission, We pray You;

For the preservation of the sanctity of the union of marriage and for our families to remain domestic churches that convey faith, teach how to pray and contribute in the life and the minister of the Church, We pray You;

For the respect of human life from birth and until death, We pray You;

For peace in the hearts, the families and communities and for the advancement of human beings, We pray You;

So that each human person’s dignity, rights, civil and religious freedoms and integritybe preserved, We pray You;

For the political authorities to work on ensuring public good which contributes to the good of men and the nations, We pray You;

So that we may be delivered from our sins that lead to divisions, aggressions and violence, We pray You;

So that we give God the priority in our life, against the reality of consumerism and materialism and in light of the excessive earthly concerns and temptations of life, We pray You;

O Mother of God and Lady of Lebanon, full of sanctity, intercede for us, that we may accept in our country and our East the graces that God has bestowed upon the world, by the enduring salvific power of the redemption and the merciful love that leads the consciences and sanctifies the human person, so that with You and through You we elevate the hymn of glory and praise to the Saint Trinity who has chosen You, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

To be prayed following Mass on Sunday June 16th, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa.

The Monastery of Maifouk also houses the famous 10th century Syro-Maronite Painting of Our Lady of d’Ilige so intimately connected with the history and destiny of Lebanon and its peoples. In contemplating Our Lady of d’Ilige we saw the face, before which the Holy Patriarchs meditated, prayed and begged intercession during the darkest hours of Maronite and Lebanese history. Because of this gentle and compassionate face, a smile would return, even in the most difficult of circumstances, and the light this gave, was always a sign of HOPE for all. The Mother of God, Our Lady of d’Ilige has carried the sufferings and the persecutions which have overwhelmed the Church and Lebanon throughout the centuries in her heart. Miraculously the painting has been preserved down the centuries despite many attempts to destroy it There is a sense in Lebanon today that there is a need to rediscover the venerable origins of this precious painting of Our Lady. It is this image of Our Lady that you see in almost every Church in Lebanon. May Our Lady of d’Ilige pray for us. When we came before the painting we were overwhelmed by its extraordinary beauty, all the more poignant because it literally carries within it, the Christian soul of Lebanon.

Update on Syria consecration to Mary

This is the latest from Antonia Moffat regarding Syria, a country whose Christian people are suffering greatly …

mgr-samir-nassarThank you all so much for the great union of prayer invoking the Immaculate Heart of Mary for Syria last Trinity Sunday.

You will see below a few words of grateful thanks which brought tears to my eyes from Archbishop Samir Nassar of Damascus.
It is moving to see that our poor prayers mean so much to the beleaguered Christian flock in Damascus and beyond.
We are truly the extended Parishioners of the Archbishop. So few can now get to Mass in Syria because of the war. Please keep praying and
any further news from the Archbishop I will send on.
You might like to read out or print in your Parish Newsletters these moving words of gratitude. I am sure it will encourage people to keep praying.
How humbling for us.
With gratitude and in union of prayer
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us
AntoniaDear Antonia
